About the Role
This is a timely opportunity for an experienced cyber and professional liability underwriter to step up, gain broader exposure and autonomy under the umbrella of the fast-building BOXX brand and join a leading Insurtech MGA as it expands into the US as lead cyber underwriter.
Reporting to the BOXX USA president and working closely with the Global Head of Underwriting and the North American Underwriting Team, you will build out the underwriting function for the US and work closely with the operations and marketing teams to establish BOXX’s presence, growth and underwriting success in this key market. In addition, you will be responsible for managing stakeholder relationships with our capacity providers and building confidence with their underwriting leads.

Responsibilities

Risk selection, analysis and service of accounts based on BOXX underwriting strategy, develop referral submissions and negotiate with underwriting leads.

Identify opportunities for growth with broker partners to meet company goals.

Implement and manage effective pricing and underwriting strategies for profitable growth of the book.

Build, maintain and manage successful producer relationships.

Work in a collaborative, team environment with other Underwriters, Underwriter Associates, Claim Representatives and Executives.
Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of professional liability underwriting, or at least 3 years of direct cyber insurance underwriting experience.

Aptitude to attract and retain profitable business.

Knowledge of cyber underwriting and pricing strategies.

Sales and marketing skills; must be able to demonstrate successful broker management, including building, maintaining and managing producer and brokerage relationships.

Experienced in building and leading teams.

Proven ability to successfully negotiate on all levels.

Strong track record of service orientation and teamwork.

University degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience working within a delegated underwriting framework is an asset.
