About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Underwriting Assistant to support our underwriting team in the evaluation, processing, and administration of our specialty lines insurance products. This role is primarily remote; however, we are also willing to consider candidates interested in a hybrid or in-office arrangement in Los Angeles or Toronto.
This position offers a defined career progression track for high-performing individuals interested in advancing within specialty and cyber underwriting.

Requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and technical support to specialty lines underwriters in the USA
- Assist with new business submissions, renewals, endorsements, and policy issuance
- Review submissions for completeness and accuracy; follow up on missing information
- Prepare underwriting files, quotes, binders, and policy documentation
- Enter and maintain accurate data in underwriting and policy administration systems
- Coordinate with wholesalers and internal teams regarding submissions and status updates
- Track deadlines, follow up on outstanding items, and support workflow management
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, company procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with reporting, audits, and special projects as needed
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in insurance, underwriting, or a related field
- Solid understanding of commercial insurance concepts
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote or in-office environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); experience with underwriting or policy systems preferred
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience supporting specialty lines such as cyber and E&O
- Prior experience working with distributed or hybrid teams
- Familiarity with wholesaler/broker workflows
